I've never seen one like this before!! It's a beautiful coin in general, but that error is extremely rare! Estate sale bankroll pull! Get it now!!!

Step into a rare slice of U.S. Mint history with this uncirculated 1987 Lincoln Cent, a striking example of an incomplete copper plating error that leaves its underlying zinc core dramatically exposed on both sides of the rim.

Unlike ordinary cents, this coin reveals the hidden metal beneath the surface — a vivid silver-toned band that frames the design in a way you simply don’t see every day. These plating errors were the result of uneven copper coating during the minting process, and most were caught before leaving the Mint. This one escaped — untouched and Uncirculated.

Highlights:

Date / Mint: 1987 (Philadelphia Mint)

Error Type: Incomplete copper plating — exposed zinc rim both obverse and reverse

Condition: Uncirculated with original mint luster

Composition: Copper-plated zinc (with visible zinc exposure)
